3D/4D Ultrasound

So, we have scheduled our 3D/4D ultrasound and we are SO excited. The facility we will be going to looks amazing. They show the ultrasound session on a 120" movie theater screen, and have 'mommy monitors' overhead so that the moms don't have to twist their necks to see. Plus their packages include a LOT. I will post their website up here afterwards, if they are as fantastic as they claim to be.

Our appointment is May 9th, the Sat. before Mother's Day. Technology is so amazing. The ultrasound pics show you so much...Jonathan calls it "the trailer to the movie" because it really is a sneak peak of what you are 'getting'!

Only about a week and a half to go before we can see Baby "________" again!

Oh yeah, we are going to be revealing her name on Mother's Day. We thought the timing would be great. : ) Everyone is dying to know. Especially the ones who pretend that it doesn't bother them. Hahahahaha.

Week 24

We were away on vacation this past week at Myrtle Beach, so I'm late in posting. Here's my latest belly shot...getting big. I may keep my "innie" belly button for another week or two. We shall see.  : )

Week 23

Jonathan picked these out when he went to the Masters this past week, and told everyone that it was gonna be her first Easter outfit. And people had a cow. (Ahhh, living in the SOUTH!)

Chip runs around trying to get in my weekly belly shot, so here he is...Don't be fooled by his doggie smile. He's a mess.

I feel a lot bigger this week. This pic was taken last night, so it was about as close as I could get to being 24 and yet still be (officially) 23 wks.

This week you can see my belly move on the OUTSIDE when she kicks. Jonathan said it reminded him of "Jurassic Park"...we just watched it this week. Maybe he meant "Alien" instead. Either way, it is crazy.

What's in a name...

So, everyone wants to know the name.
Well, here is a hint from Jonathan:

Hint #1 One of the names begins with either an A or a B!!

I should add that at this time, we are neither confirming nor denying any guesses.

We decided for sure the night we registered at Babies R us. We had been trying it out for a few days, and Jonathan was calling her "_________". I finally said that we either had to make it official or he had to stop calling her that name. So, we made it official. We thought it would be fun to keep the name a secret for a little bit. We aren't holding out on everyone until she gets here, so don't worry. It'll only be a little while.

10 Commandments of Pregnancy

Ok guys, I stole this from another preggo friend. Her disclaimer is below. Although I don't agree with every point, it still makes me laugh. It seems like it was written by a very angry woman, especially towards the end. I'm thinking she had pushy people in her life, with no boundaries whatsoever. For the record, I welcome help. And even advice, in small doses. Just don't be offended if I choose to do something else instead!!    With that being said, #5 and #6 are SO true.

This is not my original writing...just a post that's being passed around on the What To Expect boards...

1. The appropriate response to a couple telling you they are having a baby is "Congratulations" with enthusiasm. Any other response makes you a jerk.

2. Through the wonders of science, we now know that babies are made ONLY by the mother and father- not grandparents. Unless the baby is in your uterus, or you are the man that helped put it there, you may not ever use the phrase "my baby".

3. On the same note, unless you made the baby as defined in #2, the pregnancy, birth and the raising of the child are not about you. You do not have input. No one wants to hear your opinion unless they ask for it.

4. The body of a pregnant woman should be treated the same as any other body. You would not randomly touch someone's stomach if they were not pregnant, nor would you inquire into the condition of their uterus, cervix or how they plan to use their breasts. Pregnancy does not remove all traces of privacy from a woman.

5. Likewise, no woman wants to hear comments on her weight- ever. A pregnant woman does not find it flattering that you think she is about to pop, must be having twins, looks swollen or has gained weight in her face. Telling her she looks too small only makes her worry that she is somehow starving her baby. Making such comments invite her to critique your physical appearance and you may not act offended. The only acceptable comment on appearance is "You look fabulous!"

6. Most of us have picked up on the fact that summer is hot. We are hot every summer when we are not pregnant. We don't need you to point out that we will be miserably hot before the baby comes.

7. There is a reason that tickets to Labor & Delivery are not yet sold on Ticketmaster. Childbirth is actually not a public event. It may sound crazy, but some women really do not relish the idea of their mother, mother-in-law or a host of other family members seeing their bare butt or genitals. Also, some people simply feel like the birth of their child is a private and emotional moment to be shared only by the parents.

8. Like everything else in life, unless you receive an invitation, you are not invited. This includes doctor appointments, ultrasounds, labor, delivery, the hospital and the parents' home. You do not decide if you will be there for the birth or if you will move in with the new parents to "help out". If your assistance is desired, rest assured that you will be asked for it.

9. If you are asked to help after the birth, this means you should clean up the house, help with cooking meals, and generally stay out of the way. Holding the baby more than the parents, interfering with breastfeeding and sleeping schedules and making a woman who is still leaking fluid from various locations lift a finger in housework is not helping.

10. The only people entitled to time with the baby are the parents. Whether they choose to have you at the hospital for the birth or ask you to wait 3 weeks to visit, appreciate that you are being given the privilege of seeing their child. Complaining or showing disappointment only encourages the parents to include you less.

Little girl clothes...

We bought our first little girly outfit the other week.
Ok, so it's not all frills and lace. But it IS pink!
I was excited about it anyways.

Registering for baby gear

Last week (after we found out that Baby B is a lil' girl)  we went to Target and Babies R Us and registered for baby gear...so much stuff! And tons of choices. We went to Babies R Us first, and I thought it was pretty overwhelming! Thank goodness for Sarah Belisle - she allowed us to drag her all over for advice and opinions. She was SO very helpful & has lots of 'mom knowledge' about different products. Of course, we took pictures of our adventures....
Exhausted at Babies R us
That baby bump is getting bigger

Jonathan likes the scanner
Didn't take long to find another panda outfit!

crafty-ness

I just found a fun new blog, "creativepartiesandshowers.blogspot.com".
The ideas (and pictures) are amazing! The posting from Wed. April 1 was a pink and green themed baby shower (which they said represented pickles and ice cream, haha). They didn't have cake-they had a sundae bar, complete with pickles for the daring...GROSS! Very non-traditional.

The coolest idea was the water bottles with crystal light pouch. So pretty, I could steal that idea for just about any other function!

The posting from March 30 was an "Army" party- so cool for a little boy!! If you have time, go check out the pictures, they are great!

I love this blog, it's so creative! It inspires me to make something.
